Meet Monkey and Bear

Despite my attempts to "follow the book" and attach my son to a small, soft, cuddly toy placed conveniently in his crib at all times, Baby Tanner could care less about holding on to anything. He was much more interested in eating!

Until one day, about a year ago, Tanner was tearing apart his room when he discovered a long armed little monkey man whose tail wrapped nicely around Tanner's hand and was, therefore, good for something.

This summer, after a visit with Grandma Holyoak and a trip to the Build-A-Bear Workshop, Tanner brought home a friend for Monkey.

The duo accompanies Tanner to most of his breakfasts, where they occupy their own seats around the table. They even take an occasional car trip up the hill to church. So far they've not entered the building, but Tanner's missionary skills are bound to improve.
Recently Monkey and Bear have been joined by Dolphin the Seal -- another find from the closet. I do worry I will have to get a bigger table if he keeps this up!

Cayson doesn't seem to have any problems with this issue. If he can get it to his mouth, they're gonna be friends.
